Product Description
Philips Avent Natural 4 Ounce Glass Bottle is the most natural way to bottle feed. The wide, breast-shaped nipple promotes natural latch-on so you can easily combine breastfeeding and bottle feeding, and the unique comfort petals provide an extra soft, flexible nipple without nipple collapse. In addition, the anti-colic newborn-flow nipple releases air back into the bottle rather than into your baby's tummy to help newborns feed comfortably and easily. The ergonomic shape makes it comfortable for parents to hold and easy for small fingers to grasp. Assembly is simple, with only a few parts, and the wide bottle neck makes filling and cleaning easy. This Natural Philips Avent bottle is made of premium quality borosilicate glass, a BPA free material, and is printed using organic ink and made from only virgin raw materials, to ensure the highest quality for ultimate purity. It is heat and thermal shock resistant, so it can be safely stored in the fridge, warmed and is easy to wash and sterilize. Works with all nipples and caps from the Natural line. To prevent leaks, check to make sure the plastic screw ring has not been over-tightened on the bottle. The bottle is screwed tight enough when you feel some resistance when attaching the screw ring to the bottle. At that point, please stop. Over tightening the screw ring may lead to damage.

When you twist on the nipple lid, turn it back and forth a few times until you feel the tension build up and release (like catching a groove) toward the end of making it snug. If it gets snug without feeling this little bump, that means it could have a bad seal so try again. It takes a little practice at first to get the feel of where this happens. Don't make it too tight, instead the idea is to evenly align the ring by turning the lid back and forth. This process of twisting the lid back and forth seats the ring firmly to eliminate any tiny gaps between the seal. Sometimes the nipple will twist on and the ring is already well seated so you'll feel this bump into place during the first attempt. Other times, especially after washing the bottle and handling the nipple a lot, you may have to twist the nipple back and forth several times quickly in order to seat the gasket and feel this bump into the groove at the end. If you do this every time you won't have any leaks in between the nipple and the bottle. The only leaks then might be from the nipple opening itself (if it is a fast flow type).
I was so excited to find these beautiful borosilicate glass baby bottles. I didn't like the left-behind-milk smell of the plastic bottles. Plastic has a tendency to soak up odors and it is almost impossible to completely eliminate the particles soaking up inside the plastic pores, to get them back to smelling factory new. These glass bottles, however, are much easier to clean, and always smell fresh. I guess that's also why we don't store beer and wine in plastic bottles.
About borosilicate glass: it is "far more durable than traditional glass, and can withstand accidents that would break other glassware. Even when it does crack, it typically performs better, as it rarely shatters. Borosilicate glass is perfect for scientific and medical laboratory use, since it offers excellent chemical resistance in addition to its other useful qualities."
If your baby is older and needs medium or fast flow, remember to also order the Natural Nipple accessory since these come with the 1m+ slow flow nipples.
For your child’s safety and health WARNING!
Always use this product with adult supervision. • Never use
feeding nipples as a pacifi er. • Continuous and prolonged
sucking of fl uids will cause tooth decay. • Always check food
temperature before feeding. • Keep all components not in
use out of the reach of children. • Before fi rst use, clean the
product. Inspect before each use and pull the feeding nipple
in all directions. Throw away at the fi rst signs of damage or
weakness. Do not store a feeding nipple in direct sunlight or
heat, or leave in disinfectant ('sterilizing solution') for longer
than recommended, as this may weaken the nipple. • Do
not place in a heated oven. • Before fi rst use place in boiling
water for 5 minutes. This is to ensure hygiene. Clean before
each use. • Wash and rinse thoroughly, then sterilize using a
Philips AVENT sterilizer or boil for 5 minutes. • Do not warm
contents in a microwave oven, as this may cause uneven
heating and could scald your baby.
• Dishwasher safe – food
colorings may discolor components. • Do not allow child to
play with small parts or walk/run while using bottles or cups.
• Drinks other than milk and water, such as fruit juices and
fl avoured sugary drinks are not recommended. If used, they
should be well diluted and only used for limited periods.
• Expressed breast milk can be stored in sterilized Philips
AVENT polypropylene bottles/containers in the refrigerator
for up to 48 hours (not in the door) or in the freezer for up to
3 months. Never refreeze breast milk or add fresh breast milk
to already frozen milk. • Do not use abrasive cleaning agents
or anti-bacterial cleaners. Do not place components directly
on surfaces that have been cleaned with anti-bacterial cleaners.
• Excessive concentration of detergents may eventually
cause plastic components to crack. Should this occur, replace
immediately. • Plastic material properties may be affected
by sterilizing and high temperatures. This can affect the fi t of
the cap.
Cleaning
Before fi rst use, disassemble all parts, clean and
sterilize the product. After every use, take all items apart, wash
in warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Make sure that you
wash your hands thoroughly and that the surfaces are clean
before contact with sterilized components.
Assembly
When you assemble the bottle, make sure you
place the cap vertically onto the bottle so that the nipple sits
upright. To remove the cap, place your hand over the cap and
your thumb in the dimple of the cap. The nipple is easier to
assemble if you wriggle it upwards instead of pulling it up in
a straight line. Make sure you pull the nipple through until its
lower part is even with the screw ring.
Maintenance
Before fi rst use place in boiling water for
5 minutes. • Before each use, inspect all items. Pull the feeding
nipple in all directions. For optimum performance, pinch and
massage the number on the nipple between index fi nger and
thumb prior to a feed. Throw away at the fi rst signs of damage
or weakness. For hygiene reasons, we recommend replacing
nipples after 3 months. Keep nipples in a dry, covered
container. When not in use, do not store in sunlight or heat,
or leave in disinfectant ('sterilizing solution') for longer than
recommended, as this may weaken the nipple. Do not place
in a heated oven.
Glass Natural bottle
Glass bottles may break. Do not
use metal inside the bottle to stir contents or for cleaning.
This can damage the glass on the inside of the bottle.
Before each use, inspect bottles for sharp edges or glass
fragments inside. Do not use bottles if there are any cracks
on or glass fragments in the bottle. Do not let babies drink
unsupervised with this bottle.
Compatibility
Only use Philips AVENT Natural nipples
with Philips AVENT Natural feeding bottles. Spare nipples
are available separately. Make sure you use a nipple with the
correct flow rate when you feed your baby. When you use
an older Philips AVENT sterilizer, please check on the
website how to place the Natural bottle. Do not mix
Classic bottle parts and nipples with parts of the Natural
bottle. They may not fit and could cause leakage. • The
polypropylene Natural bottle is compatible with Philips
AVENT breast pumps, spouts, sealing discs and cup tops.
• The glass Natural bottle is compatible with Philips AVENT
breast pumps and sealing discs. For safety reasons, it is not
recommended to use glass Natural bottles with handles,
spouts and cup tops. If the bottle falls, it may break.
